Prepare for the SCA by practising it

Preparing for the SCA can easily become a cycle of reading guidelines, watching videos and collecting more resources.

At some point, you need to practise and get actual feedback from practicing GPs (that are trainers).

TLM SCA Preparation Programme is designed to help you put your knowledge into practice through SCA-style consultations, observation, focused feedback and discussion.

Choose the level of support that works for you.

A. Group Coaching session for 4 weeks

B. SCA 1:1 intensive

C. Private small group intensive (max 3 delegates)

Details for each below:

Your programme includes:

• Live SCA-style roleplays
• Selected volunteer consultations
• Structured educator feedback and teaching points
• Group Q&A and discussion
• Weekly areas of focus
• Practice cases and selected resources
• Access to TLM SCA Community
• Opportunities to connect with other trainees for peer practice

Our goal:

Applying the learning through timed SCA-style consultations, observation, feedback and discussion.

Important information about the 4-Week Cohort

The 4-Week SCA Practice Cohort is a group learning programme.

Selected volunteers will undertake live SCA-style roleplays while the wider group observes and learns through the consultation, feedback and discussion.

Booking the cohort does not guarantee that every delegate will personally undertake an observed live roleplay or receive individual consultation feedback.

If you specifically want your own consultations observed with personalised feedback, please choose the SCA 1:1 Intensive or Private SCA Small Group Intensive.

Our approach

Practise. Observe. Receive feedback. Reflect. Practise again.

Our aim is not to give you an enormous library of additional material.

We want to give you structured opportunities to apply your existing knowledge, identify areas for development and become more confident in your consultation approach.

Important information

TLM SCA Preparation Programme is an independent educational programme and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Participation does not guarantee any particular examination outcome. Candidates should refer to current official RCGP information for definitive guidance about the SCA and its assessment.
